sañjaya-uvācha:
evam-ukto hṛṣhīkeśho
guḍākeśhena bhārata
senayor-ubhayor madhye
sthāpayitvā rathothamam
Meaning :
Sanjaya said : "O the descendant of Bharata clan, on hearing from Arjuna, Sri Krishna placed the magnificent chariot between the two armies."
Comment :
In this shloka, we could see Duryodhana being referred as a descendant of Bharata. Bharata clan and Puru clan eventually form the Kuru Kingdom (refer here).
We know that, both Dhrtarashtra and Pandu belong to the Kuru kingdom and became the Kauravas & Pandavas later.
Arjuna is referred as Gudakesha, meaning, the winner over sleep. It is also said that sleep also means unknown knowledge about things, which indirectly means that Arjuna has conquered the unknown. He is seen to be awake all night, in order to practice, during his training with Drona. All these instances lend him the name 'Gudakesha".
