Gita - Chapter 1, Verse 40

kula-kṣhaye praṇaśhyanti
kula-dharmāḥ sanātanāḥ
dharme naṣhṭe kulaṁ kṛtsnam
adharmo-bhibhavatyuta

Meaning :

"With the destruction of a family, its age-long traditions disappear; and virtue being lost, vice takes hold of the entire race."

Comment :

The consequences that can happen by the destruction of family or its culture, is being described here and in coming verses. Arjuna says that by destroying a family, its traditions that were followed since long-ages start to disappear. The remaining members start to be wicked and their behavior turns immoral.

We can also see these in our society now-a-days, as a lot of younger generations getting destroyed due to no guidance being given from older generations, due to the reason that they might be totally isolated or no connections exist in between them. There is no better pathway being delivered and each generation drop into wicked or immoral behaviors, destroying all the traditions and fame of the family.
